The BMW M 1000 RR has become a tad bit more special with the reveal of the 50 Years M anniversary edition!
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of BMW M GmbH, founded in 1972 as BMW Motorsport GmbH, BMW Motorrad has pulled the wraps off the M 1000 RR 50 Years M anniversary edition. The special edition of the M 1000 RR has been finished in a bespoke Sao Paulo Yellow shade and features historic '50 years of BMW M' badging. All these visual elements, along with some additional equipment, have been packaged into a single optional 50 Years ///M Package.
Speaking of the additional equipment on offer, the 50 Years ///M Package comes with an M GPS Lap Timer trigger software, a rear-seat cover and a passenger kit, an M Endurance chain, a lighter anodized aluminium swingarm, the M Billet Pack, comprising Billet-aluminum engine protectors, folding brake and clutch levers, M rider’s rear sets, a front brake lever guard, and the M Carbon Package, which includes carbon front and rear fenders, upper fairing side panels, left and right carbon tank covers, a carbon chain-guard, and a sprocket cover.
Mechanically, the 50 Years M anniversary edition sticks to the original specs of the M 1000 RR. Powering it is the BMW ShiftCam-equipped 999cc inline-four engine, which develops 209bhp @ 14,500rpm & 113Nm at 11,000rpm. You can read more about the features of the BMW M 1000 RR here. In India, the M 1000 RR is available at a starting price of ₹42 lakh (ex-showroom). As for the 50 Years M anniversary edition's availability in India, only time will tell if the 50 Years ///M Package will be made available here or not.
