BMW has launched multiple new products in India, including the CE 04, its first electric scooter. Priced at Rs 14.90 lakh (ex-showroom), the CE 04 is a maxi-style scooter that features an extended, low profile and a diagonally rising front portion. It has angular bodywork, cornering headlights, daytime running lights, and a flat bench-style seat. According to BMW Motorrad, the electric scooter offers a perfect fusion of innovation and urban mobility. It redefines city commuting with its cutting-edge design, eco-friendly performance, and futuristic appearance. BMW CE 04: Battery Pack and Charging Details
The maxi-style scooter has a liquid-cooled permanent magnet motor that delivers 61Nm and 41bhp of performance numbers. It claims a top speed of 120km/h and a 0-50km/h acceleration time of 2.6 seconds. The motor is powered by an 8.5kWh battery, which offers a driving range of 130 kilometres on a single charge.
Coming to the charging details, the battery pack takes around 4 hours and 20 minutes to fully charge from 0% to 100%, and 3 hours and 30 minutes to charge from 0% to 80% with the standard 2.3kW charger. In contrast, the optional fast charger takes about one hour and forty minutes to fully charge the battery, and an hour and five minutes to charge it from 0% to 80%.
BMW CE 04: Dimensions and Features
The premium scooter is 2,285mm long, 1,150mm tall, and 855mm wide. It features a seat height of 780mm, which can be raised to 800mm with BMW's optional comfort seat. In terms of features, the CE 04 has three riding modes (Road, Rain, and Eco), an electronic reverse function, traction control, ABS, and a Type-C charging outlet. It also has a 10.25-inch TFT colour screen that offers built-in navigation and connectivity along with performance data, range, and charging time. BMW also provides a plethora of add-ons under the Comfort Package and Dynamic Package. The former includes heated grips and a backrest comfort seat, while the latter has advanced riding modes, and adaptive headlights, among others.

BMW CE 04: Hardware
The EV is supported by a steel double-loop frame. Its suspension includes a single-bridge telescopic fork up front and a single-sided swingarm with directly hinged suspension support at the back. The electric scooter is equipped with 265mm disc brakes on both ends. Moreover, it has 15-inch wheels, wrapped in 120/70 front and 160/60 rear tyres.
