BMW Motorrad India has begun pre-bookings for its upcoming product, the CE 04. This marks the company's foray into India's premium electric scooter segment. The CE 04 will officially arrive on the Indian market as the country's most expensive electric scooter on July 24. In a recent press release, BMW claims that the CE 04, which combines cutting-edge technology with environmentally friendly performance, is poised to redefine urban commuting. The scooter boasts a futuristic look and is designed to offer a contemporary and pleasurable riding experience specifically suited for urban settings. BMW CE 04: Battery Details
The e-scooter is equipped with a liquid-cooled Permanent-Magnet Synchronous Motor. The minimum power rating for this motor is 19.72bhp. The CE 04 produces 41.4 bhp of maximum power at 4,900rpm and 61Nm of peak torque at 1,500rpm. The EV has a top speed of 120km/h, which is impressive for an electric scooter. It accelerates rapidly, from 0 to 50km/h in just 2.6 seconds. Furthermore, the scooter offers three riding modes: road, rain, and eco.
The manufacturer claims a single charge can provide 130 km of riding range. The battery pack takes around 4 hours and 20 minutes to fully charge from 0% to 100%, and 3 hours and 30 minutes to charge from 0% to 80%. Meanwhile, a fast charger will take approximately one hour and forty minutes to charge the device from 0% to 100%, and one hour and five minutes to charge from 0% to 80%.
BMW CE 04: Appearance
The maxi-style scooter boasts an elongated, low profile, with a diagonally rising front end, a flat bench-style seat, and angular bodywork, enhanced by full LED lighting and creases. The model measures 1,150mm in height, 2,285mm in length, and 855mm in width. The BMW comfort seat is an optional accessory that increases the seat height from 780mm to 800mm.
BMW CE 04: Feature Details
The BMW CE 04 boasts a 10.25-inch TFT colour screen with navigation and connectivity, along with performance data, range, and charging time. Additional features include an electronic reverse function, ABS, traction control, and a Type-C charging port. Other optional features can be customised.

BMW CE 04: Hardware
Hardware-wise, the CE 04 features a steel double-loop frame beneath the bodywork with a single-sided swingarm, a directly hinged suspension strut at the back, and a single-bridge telescopic fork at the front. The scooter has 15-inch wheels and 265mm discs at both ends to bring it to a stop. It will come with ABS as standard.
In addition to the CE 04, BMW Group India will launch the 5 Series LWB, Mini Cooper S, and Mini Countryman electric vehicles on July 24.
