BMW Motorrad has unveiled the CE 02 for the global market. The two-wheeler has arrived overseas as a more economical substitute for its sibling, the CE 04. The e-bike is available in Base and Highline variants, with prices starting at $7,599 (approximately Rs 6.2 lakh) in the US. The new electric vehicle, according to the company, is developed for cities and urban locations, and is neither an e-motorbike nor an e-scooter, but an ‘eParkourer’. It offers Flow and Surf as standard riding modes. The Flash is third riding mode, which is available as an optional equipment with Highline model and as an an original BMW Motorrad accessory. Keyless entry, an LED headlight, a reverse gear, and a 3.5-inch TFT dash with Bluetooth connectivity are some of the features of the EV.

BMW CE 02: Mechanical Specifications
To conform to various riders and legal needs, BMW has introduced the CE 02 in two performance variations: the 11kW and the 4kW. The 11kW requires a bike permit, whereas the 4kW version doesn't. The standard version has a maximum power output of 15bhp, whereas the low-speed 4kW CE 02 model produces somewhat to 5bhp. The latter has a top speed of 45km/h, while the former claims a top speed of 95km/h.
Both of these variants support a 0.9kW regular charger, as well as, an optional 1.5kW fast charger for charging. With the fast charger, the standard (11kW) model charges completely in about 3 hours and 30 minutes as opposed to the regular charger's 5 hours and 12 minutes. The 4kW model, meanwhile, fully charge in 3 hours and 20 minutes.
BMW CE 02 has a low seat height of 750mm and weighs 132kg in the 11kW version and 119kg in the 4kW one. According to WMTC, the two-wheeler's practical range (11 kW version) is over 90 kilometre.
BMW CE 02: Design & Features
The electric version has split-type grab rails, a higher handlebar, an LED taillamp, a single-piece seat, and a squared-off LED headlamp with integrated indicators and DRLs. Further, it rolls on 14-inch alloy wheels. The new BMW Motorrad CE 02 has disc brakes on both wheels, single-channel BMW Motorrad ABS, automatic stability control (ASC), recuperative stability control (RSC), regenerative braking, and other safety features. For suspension, the EV gets side-mounted monoshocks at the back and telescopic forks up front.

BMW CE 02: Price
The standard version of the EV is priced at USD 7,599 (approximately Rs 6.2 lakh), whereas the Highline model costs USD 8,474 (around Rs 7 lakh).
