The partnership between TVS Motor Company and BMW Motorrad recently celebrated its tenth anniversary, and on that occasion, production of the BMW CE 02 began at TVS Motor's Hosur plant. Alongside this, TVS rolled out the 1,50,000th unit of BMW Motorrad's 310cc motorcycle family. The TVS Hosur plant will serve as a global manufacturing hub for the forthcoming CE 02 electric two-wheeler. BMW will first introduce the CE 02 in Europe, followed by other markets. According to the companies, the ten-year partnership has resulted in providing outstanding products to the world. The exchange of technological expertise has helped improve engine technology, chassis design, and safety measures for both companies.
In the span of a decade, the two organizations have released five motorcycles – the G 310 R, the G 310 GS, the G 310 RR under the BMW Motorrad label, and the Apache RR 310 and the recently introduced Apache RTR 310 under TVS banner. For now, let's take a closer look at the specs of the BMW CE 02.

BMW CE 02: Mechanical Specifics
The BMW CE 02 EV is stated to be designed and engineered for city use. In terms of mechanical specifications, the CE 02 will be available in two performance models to suit the needs of different riders and to comply with regulatory constraints in different countries. The standard model has a top speed of 95km/h and can be used by those who are aged 16 and above. The low-speed variant, on the other hand, will have a top speed of 45km/h and can be used by riders as young as 15 years old. The EV boasts large wheels and a simple design that, according to the maker, would provide longevity and a satisfying ride on any surface. The two versions can be charged with a 0.9 kW standard charger, which takes 5 hours and 12 minutes to charge both batteries from 0 to 100%. The BMW CE 02 can also be charged by a 1.5 kW fast charger, which reduces charging time to 3 hours 30 minutes.
BMW CE 02: Design and Features
The CE 02 electric scooter has a distinct appearance due to its sleek design and straightforward appearance. It has squared-off LED headlamps with integrated indicators and DRLs, a higher handlebar, split-type grip rails, an LED taillight, a USB charging port, a 3.5-inch TFT screen, and a single-piece seat. It also has some optional features, like a luggage set, top case, windscreen, and soft seats. The new BMW Motorrad CE 02 gets disc brakes on both wheels, a single-channel BMW Motorrad ABS, automatic stability control (ASC), recuperative stability control (RSC), regenerative braking, reverse gear, and more.
BMW CE 02: Will it Come to India?
The bike has been developed for the global market, and for now, there are no official words concerning its introduction in India. More details on this subject are expected to emerge later.
