Bharat Mobility Expo 2025: At Auto Expo 2025, BMW Motorrad India has announced the prices of the R 1300 GS Adventure motorcycle, expanding its R 1300 GS lineup. This new variant is designed to cater to adventure enthusiasts and is positioned as a more rugged alternative to the standard model, which was launched in 2024. The R 1300 GS Adventure carries a price tag of Rs 22.95 lakh (ex-showroom), slightly higher than the standard R 1300 GS, which costs Rs 21.20 lakh (ex-showroom). BMW Motorrad will commence the deliveries of the new R 1300 GSA later this year, and it will compete in the segment with models like the Triumph Tiger 1200 as well as the Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally. This launch stands out as one of the key attractions of Bharat Mobility 2025.

BMW R 1300 GS Adventure: Variants

The BMW R 1300 GS Adventure is available in three versions: Basic, Triple Black, GS Trophy, and Option 719 Karakorum. Designed for off-road use, the R 1300 GSA offers a larger 30-litre fuel tank compared to the standard model. It is also notably heavier, weighing 269kg, which is 32kg more than the standard R 1300 GS.

BMW R 1300 GS Adventure: Engine Specs

The BMW R 1300 GS Adventure is equipped with the same 1,300cc boxer twin engine found in the standard version, producing an impressive 145bhp at 7,750rpm and 149Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. For the first time, BMW has placed a six-speed gearbox beneath the engine in the R 1300 GS. The Adventure variant goes a step further by offering an optional Automated Shift Assistant (ASA), which is BMW’s semi-automatic transmission system.

The ASA offers two modes: Automated Drive (D) and Manual (M). In Drive mode, the system automatically determines the optimal shift points based on factors like lean angle, riding mode, throttle input, and engine speed. Meanwhile, Manual mode allows riders to experience traditional gear shifting with the foot lever. Even in Drive mode, riders can override the system and shift gears manually when desired, offering a balance of convenience and control.

BMW R 1300 GS Adventure: Hardware and Features

The R 1300 GS Adventure is built with a sheet metal main frame and an aluminum lattice tube rear frame, supported by BMW’s Telelever and Paralever EVO suspension systems. The latest model is equipped with more advanced features, such as Electronic Dynamic Suspension Adjustment (DSA) and an optional adaptive vehicle height control.

All of these technologies are showcased on a new 6.5-inch TFT display, while additional comforts like Keyless Ride and heated grips enhance the experience.
