Priced at Rs 78,368 ex-showroom Delhi
After endless speculations and spy shots, Bajaj has finally brought in the new Pulsar NS160. Priced at Rs 78,368 (ex-showroom Delhi), this new motorcycle from Bajaj will hold its own against the likes of the Suzuki Gixxer and the Honda CB Hornet 160. The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 was already being exported to countries like Turkey and Nepal and has finally been launched in the Indian market.
Commenting on the launch of the NS160, Eric Vas, President – Motorcycles, Bajaj Auto Ltd said “Today 70% of the sports biking segment is dominated by the 150-160cc motorcycles. The NS160 will target a fast-growing segment of customers who want to stay in this cc band but need the best in technology and performance. The Pulsar brand has been the market leader of sports bikes in India for the last 16 years. With the launch of NS160, we aim to strengthen our leadership in sports motorcycles.”
In terms of design, the Pulsar NS160 looks more or less identical to the NS200 - it has the same headlight, fuel tank, split seats and tail light from its bigger sibling. In fact, it is also based on the same perimeter frame and comes with the front telescopic forks-rear monoshock suspension setup. At the heart, the NS160 is powered by a 160cc single-cylinder motor that is good for 15.3bhp and 14.6Nm. This engine comes mated to a 5-speed transmission. Braking duties are performed by a 240mm disc up front and a 130mm disc at the back. The NS160 tips the scale at 142 kilograms making it 10kg lighter than its larger sibling.
In Bajaj's product portfolio, the NS160 will sit above the Pulsar 150 and 180 offerings. The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 will be available in Saffire Blue, Passion Red and Glossy Pewter Grey colour options.
