Bajaj's Pulsar family recently gained a new member, called the N125. The motorcycle has two variants (LED Disc and LED Disc BT) and is priced at Rs 94,707 (starting, ex-showroom). In the fiercely competitive 125cc segment, the Bajaj machine competes against several models, including Hero MotoCorp's Xtreme 125R. Let's see how this recently launched motorcycle compares to its Hero rival on paper.

The Pulsar N125 stands out with its aggressive and sleek style, featuring a muscular fuel tank and a sharp headlamp. It features an underbelly exhaust, a split seat design, a rear tyre hugger, a V-shaped LED cluster, a beefy fuel tank with expanded shrouds, and faux carbon fibre panels. As for the colours, the Pulsar N125 offers six options (Purple Fury, Pearl Metallic White, Cocktail Wine Red, Citrus Rush, Ebony Black, and Caribbean Blue) to choose from.

The Hero Xtreme 125R is an eye-catching machine in the 125cc market, with a robust fuel tank, sharp extensions, and sleek LED indicators. It sports an LED headlight, split seats, multi-spoke alloys, and an upswept tail portion. Unlike its Bajaj counterpart, the Hero Xtreme 125R offers three colour options (Cobalt Blue, Firestorm Red, and Stallion Red).

Both bikes are propelled by a 125cc, air-cooled single-cylinder engine linked to a 5-speed transmission. The N125 produces 11.8bhp at 8,500rpm and 11Nm at 6,000rpm. The Xtreme 125R, on the other hand, develops 11.4bhp at 8,250rpm and 10.5Nm at 6,500rpm. The bikes have similar suspension parts, including telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock. They also feature a front disc and rear drum braking setup. However, the high-end ABS edition of the Xtreme 125R has a slightly larger front disc. Notably, the Bajaj Pulsar N125 uses a Combi-brake System (CBS) instead of an ABS. In terms of features, both bikes come equipped with LED lighting, an and LCD instrument cluster.

Bajaj Pulsar N125 vs Hero Xtreme 125R: Price

The Bajaj Pulsar N125 is a more economical choice, with prices ranging between Rs 94,707 and Rs 98,707. The Hero Xtreme 125R, on the other hand, starts at Rs 95,000 and goes up to Rs Rs 99,500 for the top-spec variant with ABS.
