With the coronavirus lockdown likely to be extended even after 18th May, Bajaj Auto has announced that the free service and warranties for customers will be extended till 31st July
When the first lockdown was announced in the country till 14th April, Bajaj extended the free service and warranty till 31st May. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi now revealing that the lockdown will get extended even after 18th May, Bajaj Auto has been quick in pushing the free service and warranty period further to 31st July. As per the announcement on their official website, this extension is applicable to all customers whose free service has been due or warranty has lapsed in the 20th March to 31st May duration.
Although the lockdown is certainly going to be extended, as per the government relaxation, Bajaj Auto has commenced operations at its factory in Chakan. As of now, only a single work shift that commences at 8am has commenced. Sales and service operations have also commenced since 4th May. The company is following all safety guidelines and as per the norms of the government. Dealerships and service centres are being sanitised and thermal screening of employees and customers has been made mandatory. Strict social distancing protocols are also being followed.
Just before the lockdown commenced on 22nd March, Bajaj Auto introduced the Dominar 250. Powered by a 248.8cc single-cylinder motor it develops 26.6bhp and 23.5Nm. Priced at Rs 1.60 lakh (ex-showroom) the Dominar 250 competes against the likes of the Suzuki Gixxer 250 and the Yamaha FZ-25.
