Bajaj's first CNG motorcycle in near-production form has been spotted testing in India before its debut on July 5. Recent spy photos show a classic design with retro features, such as a round headlamp. The fuel tank is camouflaged, and a CNG cylinder looks to be placed beneath it, anchored by circular supports. Given the previous spy photographs, the bike will likely come in two variants. The standard model is expected to feature a circular LED headlight, bulb indicators, a long, flat single-piece seat, and a flyscreen, providing a typical commuter look. In comparison, the second version will stand out in the market with a slightly aggressive stance, knuckle guards, and a braced handlebar. Read on to find out more possible features of the upcoming CNG motorcycle in India.

New Bajaj CNG Bike: Mechanical Specs

Although the mechanical details of India's first-ever CNG bike are unknown, market rumours indicate that it would probably have a sloper engine, with a displacement between 110 and 125cc. If this turns out to be accurate, Bajaj could price the CNG model higher than the Platina (Rs 68,262) and the CT (Rs 69,626).

According to the leaked design drawings, the Chakan-based manufacturer will install the CNG tank beneath the motorcycle's flat seat, supported by a tubular steel cradle frame. It opted for a sloper engine to accommodate both CNG and petrol tanks as it increases space for all fuel systems and other ancillary components. Aside from the CNG tank, the bike will most likely carry a small additional fuel tank that may be used if the CNG runs out.

New Bajaj CNG Bike: Suspension and Other Features

In terms of hardware, the CNG-powered motorcycle is expected to feature a rear monoshock, telescopic front fork, 17-inch alloy wheels, a front disc brake, and a rear drum brake. It may include a fully digital instrument console, a heel-and-toe shifter, and a blue button on the left switchgear to toggle between CNG and petrol modes.

The bike is expected to be available for purchase on July 17 after its debut on July 5 in India. The base model is likely to be priced around Rs 80,000, with the top-spec variant possibly asking for an additional Rs 8,000. When it comes to market competition, the new CNG Bajaj motorcycle won't have any direct rivals, but it will serve as an alternative to models such as the Hero Splendor Plus, the Bajaj Platina 110, the TVS Radeon, and the Honda Shine 100.
