Ather Energy has launched its new electric scooter, the Ather Rizta, at an introductory price of Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). This model comes in two different versions, each featuring cutting-edge features. The notable enhancements encompass advanced connectivity capabilities such as skid control and WhatsApp integration on the dashboard. Additionally, Ather's distinctive characteristics, such as fall-safe mechanisms, emergency stop signals, and theft and tow detection, are also included. Moreover, due to its deep depth, the Rizta offers a generous under-seat storage area ideal for storing a half-face helmet and bags. In addition to its attractive design, the scooter is equipped with advanced amenities such as complete LED lighting, a bright colour TFT display, Bluetooth connectivity, and navigation capabilities. These amenities further enhance its appeal.
Ather Rizta: Design
The Rizta ditches the sporty style of the 450 series for a more refined and subdued look. With horizontally positioned headlamps, along with daytime running lights and turn signals, the front end has a subtle yet appealing appearance.
This harmonious merging of the side and rear panels, which improves both visually and practically, illustrates Ather's attention to both form and function. Adding to the scooter's cohesive design language is the taillight, which complements the overall bodywork and echoes the design of the headlight. As a whole, Rizta's design transcends generations and tastes. In addition to its stunning good looks, the Rizta is Ather's biggest scooter yet. With its 900 mm length, it has the most spacious seat of any scooter available in India. There's plenty of room under the seat to store groceries, umbrellas, and work bags. Furthermore, a front storage bin is perfect for storing things like wallets, spare change, and cleaning clothes.
For those who need even more storage, Ather has an extra, attachable, flexible frunk that adds 22 litres to the apron. Besides the 34 litre capacity under the seat, the Rizta has 56 litres of storage space, so you can bring all your possessions along.
Ather Rizta: Powertrain
Rizta has two battery sizes to choose from, so you've got options. The Rizta S variant has a 2.9kWh battery that gives it 105 km of range. In contrast, the Rizta Z offers a 3.7kWh battery that increases range to 125km. Consumers can rest easy knowing every battery variation is backed by a five-year warranty.
Rizta is built on an improved version of the 450-series chassis. The most noticeable change is the subframe, which is now longer, wider, and lower. The monoshock in the back and telescopic forks up front make for a pleasant ride. Its 12-inch wheels and MRF tyres give it stability and traction.
Ather Rizta's base S model costs Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). For the Z variant, prices start at Rs 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 2.9 kWh model and go up to Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 3.7 kWh model. The Ather Rizta is similar to rivals like the Ola S1 and TVS iQube series thanks to its attractive combination of features, range, and performance.
