The new e-scooter from Ather is going to hit Indian streets on April 6. Called the Rizta, the new two-wheeler will launch at the brand’s Community Day celebrations alongside a few accessories. However, before that, the automaker is trying to increase the buzz around the upcoming scooter with its regular teasers. Co-founder of Ather Energy Swapnil Jain recently teased the Rizta on his social media while it was wading through 400mm of water. In the test video, the scooter's broad front apron can be seen, revealing the location of the bar-style LED headlamp at the lower edge. Although it is tough to tell clearly at this time, the headlight may sport turn indicators on each side.
The teaser also reveals the telescopic fork and the wide front tyre on the upcoming Rizta. Aside from this, you can see a huge cowl above the apron, which features a new pair of mirrors that look broader than those on the Ather 450 series. Another fascinating aspect of the video is the TFT display, which seems to be taken from the Ather 450X. If this is true, the screen may display navigation, Bluetooth, and music controls.
From the side, the rider's legs and front cowl appear to be separated by a significant amount of space, indicating a bigger floorboard surface than other Ather scooters. The Rizta seems to feature a taillight that extends toward the side panels instead of downwards, unlike other scooters in the range. As the model is set to launch in India on April 6, let's explore its other important features in more detail.
Ather Rizta: Other Highlights
The motor and battery details are unknown at this time, but the scooter is predicted to come with a larger battery pack with a greater range. For the existing 450 series of scooters, the company currently provides two battery pack options: 2.9kWh and 3.7kWh, depending on the mode. The new Rizta is anticipated to come with an emergency stop signal (ESS), telescopic front forks, LED lighting, a single-disc layout on both ends and a spacious seat, among other things. In addition, the two-wheeler is projected to offer greater under-seat storage than the Ather 450X's 22 litres. As far as the price is concerned, the new Ather e-scooter, with the FAME 2 subsidy, is expected to cost around Rs 1.30 lakh. It will compete against various models, including the Bajaj Chetak, the Hero Vida V1 Pro, the TVS iQube, and the Ola S1 Pro.
