Ather Rizta Deliveries Commence in India, Range Starts at Rs 1.12 Lakh

The Ather Rizta S is available at Rs 1.12 lakh, while the Rizta Z is priced from Rs 1.27 lakh to Rs 1.47 lakh. The prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.

Within a month after rolling the first unit of the Rizta scooter off the assembly line at the manufacturing plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, Ather Energy has finally started its deliveries. A glance at the company's social media reveals that the deliveries of the family-oriented Rizta have begun in Ahmedabad, Pune, Delhi, Lucknow, Agra, Jaipur, Nagpur, and across Andhra Pradesh, with the rest of its dealer network to follow soon. 

Based on the Ather 450X, the Rizta comes in two variants – S and Z. The former, available with a 2.9kWh battery, is priced at Rs 1.12 lakh, while the latter can be had either with a 2.9kWh or a 3.7kWh battery, with prices going from Rs 1.27 lakh to Rs 1.47 lakh. The prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.

Ather Rizta: Battery, Range, Top Speed

As mentioned, the Ather Rizta comes with two battery options – a 2.9kWh pack and a 3.7kWh unit. The former yields a claimed IDC range of 123km, whereas the latter offers an IDC range of 159km on a single charge. However, in the real world, the numbers stand at 105km and 125km, respectively. Both battery packs are IP67-certified and are mated to a mid-drive motor, which produces 5.76bhp and 22Nm of peak torque. The Rizta has a claimed top speed of the scooter 80km/h.  

Ather Rizta: Charging

You even get two charging options – a 350W portable home charger and a 700W Ather Duo charger. The former charges a 2.9kWh battery pack from 0 to 80 per cent in 6 hours and 40 minutes, whereas the latter charges a 3.7kWh battery from 0 to 80 per cent in 4 hours and 30 minutes.

Ather Rizta: Hardware and Other Bits

The Ather Rizta uses the same main frame as the 450 models. It has an underbone chassis, suspended by telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock. For stopping power, it uses a disc-drum braking setup, accompanied by a combined braking system. The Rizta rolls on 12-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 90/90 front and 100/80 rear tubeless tyres.

Features-wise, buyers get either a 7.0-inch colour TFT screen or a DeepView LCD, depending on the variant selected. Also, there is Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, two ride modes (Smart Eco and Zip), auto hill hold, a reverse mode, FallSafe, a traction control system, an emergency stop signal, and an under-seat wireless charger. A wide range of accessories is also on offer, including a 22-litre frunk and a pillion backrest.
