The Ather Series1 is an exclusive limited-edition variant of the 450X, which will be sold to Ather enthusiasts who had pre-booked the 450X before the official unveiling of the scooter in January 2020.
Ather Energy has revealed the collector’s edition of the Ather 450X. Billed as Series1, this version of the Ather 450X is a limited-edition version, which will be available exclusively to Ather enthusiasts who had pre-booked the 450X before its unveiling on January 28, 2020. While Ather hasn’t revealed the exact number of Series1 units that’ll be produced, the company has hinted that ‘a few thousand’ units will be available, but the final number will be less than 10,000 units.
According to Ather, the Series1 celebrates the ‘amplified performance’ of the Ather 450X. To live up to the sporty theme, the scooter comes finished in a gloss black paint finish – which is a stark difference from the subdued white, grey and mint green shades of the regular model – along with a solid red stripe and red finish on the exposed frame and wheels. The 7-inch touchscreen also gets a special intro screen with a subtle red UI. The most exclusive detail, however, is the translucent rear panel of the scooter, which offers a peek inside the scooter, as it highlights the design of the 450X’s cast aluminium chassis and trellis frame.
The Series1 will feature the same running gear as the 450X, meaning it’ll have a 6kW PMSM electric motor, which draws power from a 2.9kWh lithium-ion battery pack. It will also have the same riding modes, namely – Eco, Ride, Sport, and 'Warp' mode. In Warp mode, the scooter can clock 0-40km/h in just 3.3 seconds, making it one of the quickest scooters on the market in India.
Customer deliveries of the Series1 450X will commence in November 2020 in 11 cities – Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Coimbatore, Kozhikode, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Pune, Ahmedabad, Kozhikode, and Kolkata. However, the initial batch of Series 1 will be shipped to customers with solid gloss black rear panels, and these will be upgraded to the translucent panels in May 2021 without any additional cost.
