Ather Energy has launched a new base version of the 450X e-scooter at Rs 98,183 (ex-showroom, Delhi with FAME II and state subsidy) in the country. In our market, the new base edition of the electric scooter comes with a slow charger and fewer capabilities. According to the EV manufacturer, the scooter aims to suffice the needs of buyers looking for affordable prices and standard features. Ather Energy, however, also offers a ProPack model of the 450X. It is available with a fast charger and a range of additional features. Price-wise, the ProPack edition of the e-scooter is Rs 30,000 more expensive than the base version. The new entry-level version and the ProPack model have the same hardware. These models, however, differ in terms of warranty, charger, and features. The new Ather 450X base edition no longer offers several advanced capabilities and connectivity features to maintain an economical price structure. Here is the complete detail on the specs, features, and design of the Ather 450X new entry-level version.

Ather 450X New Base Variant: Mechanical & Feature Details
Mechanically, the e-scooter is the same as before. It continues to draw power from the 6.4kW motor. It offers a driving range of 146 kilometre on a single charge. Further, the scooter can accelerate from 0 to 40km/h in 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of 90km/h. Similar to the engine, the new entry-level version, and the feature-loaded ProPack model share the same design, structure, wheels, suspension, and palette of colour options. However, as mentioned, these models of the Ather 450X boast differences in terms of charging, warranty, and features. There are no ride modes available on the new base version. Instead, there is a default setting that, in practice, provides acceleration and performance, comparable to what the Ride mode in the scooter with the Pro Pack gives.
On the feature front, the 7-inch touchscreen display is present in the new base edition, however, it is only available in grayscale. The top-of-the-line 450X ProPack model sports a multi-color display in contrast. Further, connectivity capabilities, including document storage, ride statistics, smartphone pairing, OTA updates, onboard maps, and navigation, remote position tracking, remote charge monitoring, push location from Ather app, and multi-stop trip planner are not available on the 450X base version. Moreover, the new base edition of the 450X does not come with amenities like a tyre pressure monitoring system, park assist, and hill assist.

Ather 450X New Base Variant: Battery & Warranty Updates
The base edition has the 3.7kWh battery pack as the ProPack model. However, it offers low charging time than its more advanced counterpart. The battery on the 450X ProPack takes 5 hours and 40 minutes to recharge, whereas the battery on the base model takes 15 hours and 20 minutes. The reason behind the stark difference in charging times of both variants of the 450X e-scooter is the usage of a home charger by the base edition.
Warranty-wise, the base model as well as the ProPack version come with a similar 3-year/30,000 kilometre warranty, including both the car and the charger. However, the battery warranty for the Ather 450X is 3 years/30,000 Kilometre for the base model and 5 years/60,000 kilometre for the ProPack model
