The much anticipated 450S electric scooter, the latest entry-level version from Ather, has been launched in India recently. The Ather 450S, which has a price tag of Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom), will right away compete with Ola's S1 Air, which will be on sale in a short while. The EV maker claims that the new e-scooter can provide comparable efficiency and a better riding experience than standard 125cc petrol scooters already on sale in the country. Tarun Mehta, Co-Founder & CEO of Ather Energy, revealed that the 450 platform has been extremely successful for the firm and that it intended to make the EV available to a larger variety of buyers. He said, "The 450 platform has been immensely successful for us, and we wanted to make it available to a wider set of buyers. The 450S will be our new entry-level variant for those looking to enter the electric segment but are seeking the quality and assurance that Ather scooters provide. Within the category, the 450S will break new grounds and will offer first-of-its-kind tech features in the performance scooter segment, raising the bar in terms of riding pleasure and safety while still delivering on performance."

Ather 450S Electric Scooter: Battery and Range
As far as the performance of the newly launched Ather 450S is concerned, the scooter's battery will have a 3kWh capacity, which is sufficient for a 115-kilometre IDC (Indian Driving Conditions) range per charge. It will be less in real-world situations because the firm says that the 450X's certified range is 146-kilometre while the true range is 105-kilometre. Both the 450X and the 450X Pro Pack feature a larger 3.7kWh lithium-ion battery in comparison. However, when it comes to performance, the automaker refuses to take any quick fixes. The new base 450S variant has a top speed of 90km/h, the same as the 450X and the 450X Pro Pack models.
Ather 450S Electric Scooter: Price and Bookings

In other news, the Ather 450X and the 450X Pro Pack pricing have been revised by the EV manufacturer to Rs 1.45 lakh and Rs 1.65 lakh, respectively, in response to the FAME-II subsidy cut. Both prices are ex-showroom. For the uninitiated, the FAME-II subsidy has been updated by the Ministry of Heavy Industries to Rs 10,000 per kWh with a maximum cap of 15 per cent of the ex-showroom price.
