Aprilia SR 150 launched at Rs. 65,000

Piaggio Group, the parent company of the Italian two-wheeler brand has announced the price of their upcoming 150cc. The Aprilia SR 150 will be launched with an introductory price of Rs. 65,000 for the two wheeler which Piaggio calling a “Crossover Bike”.

Arpilia has announced that the SR 150 scooter will be priced at Rs.65,000 for the Indian market.

Piaggio Group, the parent company of the Italian two-wheeler brand has announced the price of their upcoming 150cc scooter for the Indian market. The Aprilia SR 150 will be launched with an introductory price of Rs. 65,000 for the two wheeler which Piaggio calling a “Crossover Bike”.

Aprilia claims that the SR 150 provides a feel of a sports bike with the ease of a scooter, a Crossover bike that still maintains the brand’s heritage. The SR150 has been and engineered in Italy and will be manufactured at Piaggio’s India factory located in Baramati, Maharashtra.

Piaggio will officially introduce the SR 150 in August 2016 for the Indian market, which the company states is one of the largets in the world with nearly five million scooters sold in 2015, and saw a grown of 20% in the first half of 2016.

“After the success of the Ape and the positioning of the Vespa in the premium segment of the Indian market, we are further strengthening our offering in the subcontinent with the entry of Aprilia’s SR 150 scooter,” said Roberto Colaninno, Piaggio Group Chairman and CEO.

“This vehicle is an excellent expression of the Noale manufacturer’s sport expertise and offers technology and style superior to those of its direct competitors in the segment.”

The Aprilia SR 150 scooter has a 150cc, single cylinder, 4-stroke engine. The scooter will also come with front fors suspension with large 14 inch wheels with five spoke alloy wheels, designed similarly from the MotoGP factory bike the company competes with in the championship.

Bookings for the Aprilia SR 150 will be initiated by the company shortly and will be available through the Piaggio Group’s dealership network across the country to be able to cater to a wider market.
