The Aprilia Tuono 457 has a sportier, more aggressive look. It takes cues from its fully-faired sibling while maintaining a unique identity. The front features sharp, angular lines, accentuated by a bold LED headlight and boomerang-style daytime running lamps.

The sculpted fuel tank and exposed engine components enhance its streetfighter vibe, while design details like the slim tail section, rear-set footpegs, and single-piece handlebar complete the robust stance. The bike is offered in two appealing colours: Piranha Red and Puma Grey.
On the other hand, the KTM 390 Duke blends aggressive styling with a touch of sophistication. Both the Tuono 457 and the KTM 390 Duke are well-equipped machines. The Tuono 457 comes with three riding modes (Eco, Sport, and Rain), traction control, and dual-channel ABS, all displayed on a 5.0-inch TFT colour screen. The KTM 390 Duke also has three riding modes (Rain, Street, and Track) and a 5-inch TFT display. The KTM has a slight edge with standard launch control and a quickshifter, a feature that the Tuono 457 offers only as an optional upgrade.
The Aprilia Tuono 457 is the heavier bike, weighing 175 kg, while the KTM 390 Duke is lighter at 168.3 kg. Both motorcycles have the same seat height of 800mm, offering similar rider comfort. When it comes to fuel capacity, the KTM 390 Duke outperforms the Tuono 457 with its larger 15-litre tank, while the Tuono’s tank is slightly smaller at 12.7 litres. While the Tuono 457 might feel more substantial, the KTM 390 Duke is more lightweight and offers a better fuel range.

The Aprilia Tuono 457 is equipped with a 457cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that churns out 47bhp at 9,400rpm and 43.5Nm of torque at 6,700rpm. On the other hand, the KTM 390 Duke, with its smaller 399cc single-cylinder engine, delivers 45bhp at 8,500rpm and 39Nm of torque at 7,000rpm, offering a slightly lower peak torque but still impressive output for its size. Both bikes are paired with a 6-speed gearbox and feature a slip-and-assist clutch.

The Tuono 457 and 390 Duke share a similar suspension setup with USD forks and monoshock rear suspension, but they differ in suspension travel, with the Tuono offering 120mm up front and 130mm at the rear, while the 390 Duke provides 150mm of travel at both ends.

The Tuono offers preload adjustment, while the Duke gives riders more flexibility, offering both rebound and compression adjustments at the front and rebound adjustment at the rear. Both bikes feature a 320mm front disc for strong braking power. The rear discs differ, with the Tuono using a 220mm disc and the Duke sporting a larger 240mm disc for better rear braking performance.

The Aprilia Tuono 457 comes with a price tag of Rs 3.95 lakh, whereas the KTM 390 Duke, after its recent price cut, is priced at Rs 2.95 lakh (both ex-showroom).
