Aprilia Tuono 457 Launched in India at Rs 3.95 Lakh

Aprilia has launched the Tuono 457 in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs 3.95 lakh. Unveiled at EICMA last year, the Tuono 457 differentiates itself from its fully-faired counterpart, the RS 457, by offering a more relaxed and comfortable riding experience. This is achieved through its single-piece handlebar, which sits higher than the RS 457’s clip-ons, creating a more laid-back and less aggressive riding posture. With its focus on comfort, the Tuono 457 is perfect for riders who want a blend of casual riding and excitement. The Tuono undercuts the RS 457, priced at Rs 4.20 lakh, by Rs 25,000. However, it stands as a higher-priced option in comparison to rivals such as the Yamaha MT-03 (Rs 3.50 lakh), BMW G 310 R (Rs 2.90 lakh), and KTM 390 Duke (Rs 2.95 lakh). Prices mentioned are ex-showroom.

Aprilia Tuono 457: Design

The Aprilia Tuono 457 has a sportier and an aggressive appearance paired with rider-friendly ergonomics. It borrows a few design cues from its larger Tuono siblings and the fully-faired counterpart while maintaining a unique identity. The front fascia features sharp, angular lines that demand attention, highlighted by a prominent LED headlight and boomerang-style daytime running lamps. A sculpted fuel tank and exposed engine components further add to the streetfighter look.

The sleek tail section, rear-set footpegs, and single-piece handlebar round out the design, giving the bike a bold, purposeful look that’s ready for the road. As for the colours, the bike offers two options: Piranha Red and Puma Grey. 

Aprilia Tuono 457: Engine and Hardware

The Tuono 457 shares its 457cc parallel-twin engine with its fully-faired counterpart, delivering a maximum power of 47bhp and a peak torque of 43.5Nm. It sits on an aluminium perimeter frame, suspended by a 41mm inverted front fork and a rear monoshock, both of which can be adjusted for preload. Braking is handled by a 320mm front disc, a 220mm rear disc, and dual-channel ABS. The Tuono 457 is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels front and rear, shod with tubeless tyres.

Aprilia Tuono 457: Features

The Aprilia Tuono 457 is equipped with a range of cutting-edge features, including a 5-inch TFT colour display that connects to the smartphone via Bluetooth. This allows riders to access clear ride information, turn-by-turn navigation, and call/SMS alerts directly on the screen.

The bike also features ride-by-wire technology for smoother throttle response and offers three levels of adjustable traction control. With three riding modes—Rain, Sport, and Eco—the Tuono 457 fine-tunes traction control and ABS to match different road conditions and riding preferences. Other notable highlights include a 6-speed gearbox, a slipper clutch (standard), and a bidirectional quickshifter (optional upgrade).
