The Aprilia Tuareg 457 rally bike is yet to be officially unveiled. To hold us over, the spy images of the bike in question have emerged online, offering a good look at the racing prototype. Judging by these images, the prototype has a twin headlamp setup, a navigation tower, an upswept exhaust, and the RS 457-borrowed engine casing. The latter indicates that the Tuareg 457 rally bike uses the RS 457's parallel-twin engine, albeit in a slightly different state-of-tune. In the Aprilia RS 457, the engine makes 48bhp and 44Nm of peak torque while being coupled to a 6-speed gearbox.

Aprilia Tuareg 457 Rally Bike: Hardware
Hardware-wise, the rally version of the Tuareg 457 shares the steel frame and aluminium swingarm with the bigger Tuareg 660. The motorcycle has what appears to be long travel suspension with Ohlins units – likely to be a USD fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. For braking, it gets a disc on each end. The bike rolls on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoked wheels wrapped in rally-spec tyres.
Road-legal Aprilia Tuareg 457 Likely to Debut at EICMA 2024
Granted that the left engine casing of the Tuareg 457 rally bike is very similar to that of the Aprilia RS 457, it seems that the road-oriented Tuareg 457 is being readied for market launch. The production-spec Tuareg 457 is expected to be differentiated from the rally version in terms of cycle parts to suit its characteristics. However, the 21-17-inch spoked wheel setup will likely be the same. Expect the smaller Tuareg 457 to adopt a design language similar to the Tuareg 660. In terms of instrumentation, the bike could offer the same colour TFT dash as the RS 457. The production-spec Tuareg 457 might be showcased at the EICMA 2024.
