Ahead of its official launch, Aprilia’s website gives away the pricing of its upcoming SXR 125 maxi-scooter. The pricing is relatively high for the segment and undercuts the SXR 160 by Rs 10,000
Aprilia SXR 125 was on its way to share the niche market space of the 125cc maxi-scooters with the with the Suzuki Burgman Street and was scheduled to be launched sometime next month. However, the prices of the Aprilia SXR 125 have leaked on its website ahead of its official debut in the Indian market.
The Aprilia SXR 125 is priced at Rs 1,14,994 ex-showroom which is Rs 10,000 more affordable than the SXR 160 (priced Rs 1.25 lakh ex-showroom). The Suzuki Burgman Street which is the direct competitor of the SXR 125 is priced at Rs 86,200 ex-showroom. The Burgman Street undercuts the SXR 125 by Rs 29,000 and makes Burgan Street a more value for money proposition.
However, is the Aprilia SXR 125 worth the premium of Rs 29,000? We shall find that out when we ride the max-scooter and bring you its First Ride Review.
For now, we know that the engine on offer is a 125cc unit, similar to Aprilia SR 125 however the state of tune is different. The SXR 125 makes 9.3bhp at 7,600rpm and 9.6Nm at 6,250rpm. The scooter is offered in four colours, blue, black, white, and red. The feature is largely similar to the SXR 160.
The bookings for the SXR 125 begun in the first week of April and Aprilia also confirmed that the scooter is already rolling off the assembly line.
