Aprilia has announced a new racing series for the RS 457 motorcycle. Along with this, they introduced the RS 457 Trofeo, equipped with the Racing Trophy Kit. This kit turns the street-legal RS 457 into a track-ready bike. However, the bike will no longer be street-legal with the kit installed. Fortunately, almost all modifications are reversible, allowing owners to revert their bikes to stock condition by simply removing the kit. The Aprilia RS 457 Trophy will officially commence with two preliminary races scheduled for September and October of this year. These first races are a preview of a longer racing calendar, showing Aprilia's desire to build a strong racing community for the RS 457.

Aprilia RS 457 Trofeo: Whats New?
The Aprilia Racing Trophy Kit transforms the RS 457 Trofeo into a race-ready machine. The SC-Project exhaust system is the centrepiece, boosting power and delivering a signature racing sound. This upgrade works with a high-flow air filter, optimizing engine breathing for maximum power. A dedicated Racing ECU ensures these modifications operate smoothly, adjusting air-fuel ratios for peak performance and engine health.
To reduce the weight of the RS 457, the kit includes a lightweight fibreglass fairing, enhancing handling and acceleration. Its aerodynamic design also reduces drag. For intuitive control during races, the kit features JetPrime racing switches and buttons, designed for easy use with racing gloves. These controls may include features like launch control and a pit lane limiter, giving riders precise track commands.

The powerplant of the Trofeo is a 457cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine, delivering strong performance for aggressive manoeuvres. This engine pairs with a 6-speed gearbox featuring a slip and assist clutch, likely including a quick-shifter for the racing version. While specific suspension changes aren't detailed it will allow the rider to personalise setups to match rider preferences. The stock street tyres are replaced with high-performance racing slicks, providing improved grip and confidence in corners. The Aprilia RS 457 Trofeo retains its electronic rider aids, including ride-by-wire throttle, selectable riding modes, ABS, and adjustable traction control, ensuring rider safety and maximizing on-track performance.
