Aprilia has finally unveiled the RS 457. The Aprilia RS 457 will likely make its debut in India during the 2023 MotoGP Bharat weekend. This superbike, which has its roots in Aprilia Racing's history, represents a major step forward in the company's mission to satisfy the needs of discerning riders everywhere. The production-ready RS 457's styling seems to be inspired by the larger middleweight RS 660, just as we speculated. The RS 457, like the RS 457, has a triple-LED headlamp with built-in LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and turn signals. The RS 457 has multiple crisp sharp cuts and edges across the body, which add to its aggressive sporty appearance. According to Aprilia, the wet weight of the bike is 175kgs, while the dry weight is 159kgs.

Aprilia RS 457: Design

The Aprilia RS 457 stays loyal to its heritage by featuring the signature double front fairing, underbelly silencer, and streamlined 2-in-1 exhaust of the rest of the RS family. The 5-inch TFT colour instrument cluster on the instrument panel matches the sleek and sophisticated design of the bike's full LED front headlight, which mimics the style of Aprilia's bigger super sports motorcycles.

Michele Colaninno, Piaggio Group CEO, while highlighting the brand’s recent renewal and expansion said, 'In recent years, the Aprilia brand has seen an intense burst of renewal, also supported by continued progress in the racing world. The recent introduction of the 660 family has expanded its target, creating a full and competitive range.' Colaninno was similarly optimistic about the RS 457's future success in both the domestic and foreign markets.

Aprilia has methodically crafted the RS 457, a road-ready sports bike with cutting-edge technology borrowed from the world of racing. It features an aluminium frame, which is very rigid and lightweight, along with an adjustable 41mm fork and a mono-shock mounted to a steel swingarm for suspension, which allows for responsive and stable handling at all times.

Aprilia RS 457: Features

The electronic package on the new Aprilia RS 457 is on par with that of a superbike. It gets a Ride by Wire system with three riding modes, which can modify the bike's power delivery and traction control. There are three traction control settings available, which can be turned off completely. The performance of the bike can be further improved with the addition of a quick-shifter, which is sold separately.

The bike's powerful braking system comprises a 320mm front disc and a 220mm rear steel disc. It also gets dual-channel ABS for additional safety. The RS 457 rides on 17-inch sports wheels shod with high-performance 110/70 up front and 150/60 at the back.

Aprilia RS 457: Engine

The Aprilia RS 457 is powered by an advanced liquid-cooled parallel twin-cylinder engine, which includes double camshaft timing and four valves per cylinder. The engine produces a commendable output of 48bhp, which adds to the bike's distinctive and exhilarating riding experience.

The Aprilia RS 457 has a dry weight of 159kg, which gives it a power-to-weight ratio that is superior to that of its competitors. Fans in India will be able to put this technological marvel to the test on public roads and racetracks once it is launched. Hopefully, the launch will occur soon.
