Greaves Electric Mobility, Greaves Cotton's electric mobility division, has started delivering its brand-new Ampere Nexus electric scooters. The first batch of e-scooters reached customers on June 5 in celebration of Ampere's 16th anniversary. The Nexus went on sale in April this year, with a starting price tag of 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). As of now, the deliveries have started in Bengaluru and will be carried out in phases, according to the company. The new Nexus has been completely designed and developed in India. The manufacturer commenced the bookings for the vehicle for a token amount of Rs 9,999 last month. However, the company has not disclosed the number of bookings received by it so far.

Vijaya Kumar, Executive Director and CEO, of Greaves Electric Mobility said, 'Celebrating our 16th anniversary with the commencement of Ampere Nexus deliveries represents a significant milestone in our unwavering commitment to sustainable transportation. This occasion transcends the mere delivery of a high-performance electric scooter; it symbolises our resolute commitment to fostering a greener, more sustainable future.'
Ampere Nexus Electric Scooter: Mechanical Details
The brand's first high-performance scooter, the Ampere Nexus, debuted as a concept at the 2023 Auto Expo. With a single charge, the model's 3kWh LFP battery pack is said to have a 136 km range. According to the firm, the battery can be charged in 3 hours and 22 minutes. A mid-mounted PMS motor producing 4.42bhp and a maximum output of 5.3bhp powers the rear wheel. With four riding modes and a top speed of 93km/h, the Ampere Nexus may be graded up to 16 degrees.
Ampere Nexus Electric Scooter: Feature Set
The electric scooter features a 7-inch TFT touchscreen dashboard with an in-house developed Nex.IO user interface, 12-inch alloy wheels, and LED lighting. Steel Grey, Lunar White, Indian Red, and Zanskar Aqua are the four shades available for the Ampere Nexus. Furthermore, the model comes in two variants: Standard and ST.

Ampere Nexus Electric Scooter: Hardware
The Ampere Nexus features a new underbone chassis, with a telescopic fork at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Stopping power comes from a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear, both of which are mounted on 12-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 90/90-section tyres.
