After launching two motorcycles in India, TVS is gearing up to launch its all-new Jupiter 125. The scooter will be positioned alongside the TVS Ntorq as a more commuter-friendly proposition.
TVS is gearing up for its third big launch of this year. The first one was the 2021 TVS Apache RR310 – the review of which you can read by clicking here – and the second, was the TVS Raider. The Raider 125 has been positioned as a 125cc sporty commuter. You can read the full review of the TVS Raider 125 by clicking here.
Moving to the third launch from the Indian manufacturer which happens to be a 125cc scooter. Reports online suggest that the manufacturer is gearing up to launch a higher capacity TVS Jupiter.
Currently, the TVS Jupiter on sale features a 110cc air-cooled engine and the prices start at Rs 65,673 (ex-showroom). The manufacturer has the Ntorq on sale which is mainly pitched as a sporty commuter. The TVS Ntorq – especially in its Race XP variant – rivals the Aprilia SR125 which also gets a few sporty credentials in the 125cc scooter segment.
In a way, TVS does not have a commuter scooter in the 125cc segment that directly rivals the Honda Activa 125, Suzuki Access, Yamaha Fascino 125, and Hero Maestro Edge 125. That will be changed once TVS brings along the Jupiter 125.
The new Jupiter 125 is expected with a 125cc engine – that is available with the TVS Ntorq. The power figures are expected to be the same as the Ntorq – 9.25bhp and 10.5Nm.
Along with a new drivetrain, the TVS Jupiter 125 is expected with minor cosmetic tweaks. The fascia, side panels and tail section are likely to be reworked to make them appear up-to-date and modern over the outgoing TVS Jupiter. The features on offer are expected to be at par with the competition and the new scooter will offer Bluetooth connected tech.
The TVS Jupiter 125 will likely be launched around the festive season and will be sold alongside the outgoing TVS Jupiter 110 as a relatively premium offering.
