Details are scarce, but expect an announcement to arrive soon.
BMW and TVS’ partnership has been a rather fruitful one and has given us sublime motorcycles like the G 310 R and the G 310 GS. Now, it looks like it's time for the fully-faired Apache RR 310 to get a BMW derivative, and we can’t wait to see what it looks like!
We don’t know what it will be called just yet, but we suspect that BMW's entry-level faired motorcycle could either be called the G 310 RR or perhaps the S 310 R, taking the ‘S’ nomenclature. But only time will tell what exactly will be the case. What we do know is that it will get the same 312cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine as the Apache RR310, which produces 33.5bhp and 27.3Nm. Expect it to perform similarly as it does in the RR310.
One of the big highlights for this new faired BMW 310 will be its design. Expect it to look very premium and possibly even borrow some cues from bigger bikes like the S 1000 RR, which should give it a lot more appeal. BMW may also endow it with a few unique features to set it apart from the TVS Apache RR 310.
In terms of pricing, expect it to demand a premium over the Apache RR 310’s Rs 2.65 lakh starting price, pushing it, perhaps, closer to the Rs 3 lakh mark, which will put it head to head against the new KTM RC 390, which has a starting price of Rs 3.14 lakh.
