It’s Christmas time! We at autoX wish Santa Claus gifted us these motorcycles.
Honda Grom: Big things in a small package, that’s what the MSX 125 aka Grom is all about. If you loved the Navi’s quirky styling and its peppy character, then you will surely love the Grom. The 125cc air-cooled engine on a motorcycle as small as the Grom, makes it absolutely fun to ride. In fact, we think it is just the kind of machine you need to make your city commutes and quick dashes to the market fun too. The biggest problem though is that the Grom is not on sale in India.
BMW F 700 GS: Talking about bikes that are not on sale in India, yet ideal for our conditions, the BMW F 700 GS. With the kind of road conditions we have in India, the F 700 GS is just the kind of machine you need. Although it isn’t an adventure tourer in the real sense of the word, the F 700 GS can tackle gentle dirt tracks and odd gravel stretches. And then 75bhp and 77Nm from a 798cc parallel-twin unit is just enough power for roads in India.
Triumph Street Triple: For a middle-weight naked offering, the Triumph Street Triple ticks all the right boxes. Churning about 77 horses in its stock form, it is quick; at 183kg its light which makes it agile and fun to ride around a race track as well. Most importantly, the Street Triple has all that right ingredients of your everyday superbike.
Ducati Panigale 959: It looks absolutely beautiful. The single sided swing arm, the twin headlights, the dual exhausts, all come together in perfect union to make it a piece of art. But at the same time, it also delivers as much. Good mid-range punch with a peaky top-end performance gives it character that is hard not to fall in love with. The Panigale 959 is engaging for those who ride hard but is equally forgiving of your mistakes. What more can you ask for?
Indian Chieftain: One of the most fun cruisers we have ridden in recent times. Its not only amply comfortable but also looks the part. Being big and bulky you’d think it won’t turn very easily into corners but it actually leans in quite easily. It comes loaded with features too, including ABS, height adjustable windscreen, cruise control and more. Its all the motorcycle you need really and if you still want more you can also enjoy some Christmas carols on the speakers.
