Triumph Motorcycles has launched the updated Speed Twin 1200 and Speed Twin 1200 RS in India, priced at Rs 12.75 lakh and Rs 15.50 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. Both neo-retro bikes share the same 1,200cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, which now revs up to 8,000 rpm and delivers 105hp at 7,750rpm and 112Nm of torque at 4,250rpm. While the frame and engine are identical, the two models differ in hardware, catering to distinct rider preferences.
The Speed Twin 1200 RS stands out with sportier features, including upgraded suspension, superior brakes, and a bidirectional quick-shifter. Both motorcycles come with a slip-and-assist clutch and a 6-speed gearbox.

Triumph Speed Twin 1200 RS: Design and Feature
The Triumph Speed Twin 1200 RS combines retro roadster design with modern performance and features. Its classic styling includes a round LED headlight, tubular handlebars with bar-end mirrors, and a walnut-shaped fuel tank. The brushed stainless steel twin-pipe exhaust complements the look, with colour options of Baja Orange and Sapphire Black.
The bike offers advanced rider aids for improved control and safety. Cornering ABS and traction control enhance stability, while three ride modes – Road, Rain, and Sport – let riders adjust performance. Optional features like cruise control, heated grips, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) add convenience and functionality.
The Speed Twin 1200 RS is equipped with adjustable suspension for precise handling. 43mm Marzocchi front forks and twin Ohlins rear shock absorbers with external reservoirs ensure control and comfort. Dual 320mm front discs and a 220mm rear disc provide strong braking performance. The 17-inch wheels with 120/70 front and 160/60 rear tyres offer stability and grip for varied riding conditions.
Triumph Speed Twin 1200: Design and Feature
The Triumph Speed Twin 1200 is available in three colours: white, red, and silver. It provides an accessible entry point to the Speed Twin range while maintaining the model's core character. Compared to the RS version, it has a simpler specification, making it a great option for those seeking a more straightforward ride.
Equipped with a 43mm Marzocchi fork and twin Marzocchi shock absorbers, the Speed Twin 1200 ensures stable and confident handling. For braking, Triumph-branded radial 4-piston callipers grip twin 320mm discs, providing solid stopping power.

Safety features on the Speed Twin 1200 include cornering ABS, traction control, and three ride modes: Road, Rain, and Sport.
