BMW F900 R, F 900 XR: Important Updates
The 2025 BMW F 900 R and F 900 XR come equipped with new 43mm USD telescopic front forks, offering improved torsional rigidity. These forks now allow for adjustments in the rebound, compression damping, and spring preload, giving riders more customisation options. The rear suspension remains unchanged, featuring fully adjustable monoshock units.
Both models now sport updated 17-inch cast aluminum wheels that are 1.8 kg lighter than their predecessors, resulting in a total weight reduction of 3 kg. While the braking system – dual 320mm front discs and a 265mm rear disc – remains the same, the new models now include lean-sensitive ABS Pro as a standard feature for safer braking in corners. Dynamic Brake Control is also included as standard equipment.

The revised F models now boast an updated Dynamic riding mode. Functions like Dynamic Traction Control and engine drag torque control are also now standard, helping to prevent rear wheel spin caused by sudden throttle openings. Additionally, BMW offers a new Akrapovic sports silencer as an optional accessory.
As for variants and colour schemes, both models offer three options each for the same. The F 900 R's entry-level model is available in Snapper Rocks Blue metallic, while the F 900 XR base is offered in Racing Red. Both models share two other variants: the Triple Black in Blackstorm metallic and the Sport version in Lightwhite with Racing Blue metallic.

The revised F 900 XR has been enhanced for better aerodynamics, aiming to boost its performance and comfort for long-distance touring. The front fairing now features a new wind deflector, designed to minimise helmet vibrations and reduce wind resistance. The handguards, now a standard feature, have also been improved for better wind protection, and the bike includes heated grips. Additionally, the F 900 XR comes with Headlight Pro as standard, offering an adaptive LED headlight and DRLs, along with a USB-C charging port on the right side.
The 2025 F 900 R and F 900 XR are expected to be launched in India, as the previous models were available in the market. For the uninitiated, the older F 900 XR is priced at Rs 12.55 lakh, while the F 900 R, which has been discontinued, was priced at Rs 10.76 lakh. Both mentioned prices are ex-showroom.
