The Perak is driven by a 6-speed manual gearbox, accompanied by an assist and slipper clutch for light clutch action. Stopping power comes from a 280mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear, both sourced from ByBre. On offer is also a dual-channel anti-lock braking system.
On the other hand, the Jawa 42 Bobber's 334cc engine produces 29.4bhp and 32.7Nm of peak torque and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with an assist and slipper clutch. Hardware-wise, the bike gets a telescopic/mono-shock setup, disc brakes, and dual-channel ABS.
Jawa's Comment
Ashish Singh Joshi, CEO of Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles, said, 'The Jawa Perak quickly became one of our top-selling models, a testament to India’s growing aspirational market. The 42 Bobber only cemented our segment domination further. The bobber mindset is an acquired one; you either have it or don't. You must ride it to know if you have it. That said, the Jawa Perak’s new design does tempt you over to the dark side!'
Jawa Lineup in India
In the Indian market, Jawa currently retails the 350, 42 Bobber, 42, and the Perak. In January 2024, Jawa launched the 2024 iteration of the 350 at Rs 2.15 lakh (ex-showroom). The bike replaces the Jawa Classic in the company's India line-up and gets significant updates (both mechanical and hardware) over the previous model.
