The 2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 250's India launch will likely happen soon. Type Approval documents show that the new Svartpilen 250 has been homologated in India, and it will be based on the current KTM 250 Duke – meaning the 2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 will come powered by a new-generation 249cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, dubbed the LC4c. In comparison to the previous-generation unit, the LC4c is claimed to offer smoother acceleration and more power. Owing to a revised cylinder head, updated gearbox, and larger airbox, the engine is capable of churning out 31bhp at 9,250rpm and 25Nm of peak torque at 7,250rpm. A sprint from 0 to 100km/h takes 7.8 seconds, which is only 0.5 seconds slower than the Honda CB300R. The transmission duties of the bike are taken care of by a 6-speed gearbox and an assist and slipper clutch.
2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 250: Design, Features
Design-wise, the new Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 is almost identical to the Vitpilen 250, featuring a circular LED headlamp, clip-on handlebars, a redesigned fuel tank, a longer saddle, and so on. However, it will miss out on a colour TFT display and will get a 5.0-inch LCD instrument console instead (with Bluetooth connectivity as an option). Other bits will include a short fly screen, bash plate, centre-set footpegs, a ride-by-wire system, a Type-C charging port, switchable dual-channel ABS, traction control, and a bi-directional quickshifter.
2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 250: Hardware
The updated Svartpilen 250 will feature a steel trellis chassis, suspended by inverted forks at the front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear, both sourced by WP-Apex. Meanwhile, the braking hardware will include a 320mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear, assisted by dual-channel ABS. The 2024 iteration will likely come with 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in tubeless tyres.
2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 250: Dimensions
According to the homologation certificate, the 2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 measures 1,042mm in height, making it taller than the Vitpilen 250 (1,028mm). Meanwhile, the length, width, and wheelbase remain the same, standing at 2,071mm, 807mm, and 1,368mm, respectively.
Husqvarna Vitpilen 250, Svartpilen 401
This development comes on the back of the launch of the 2024 Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 and Svartpilen 401 in our market, priced at Rs 2.19 lakh and Rs 2.92 lakh, respectively. The prices are ex-showroom. The former is based on the KTM 250 Duke, while the latter is based on the KTM 390 Duke. Speaking of KTMs, the Austrian bikemaker is readying the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure, the test mule of which was spotted testing in India this month. The talking point is its Dakar Rally-inspired styling, which includes a beak-styled fender, large fairing, and a slim tail section.
