Honda has rolled out the 2024 NX400, an adventure tourer with additional features, in Japan. The bike carries a starting price tag of 891,000 Yen (approximately Rs 4.93 lakh) and comes decked up in two colour options — Ballistic Black Metallic and Pearl Glare White. Positioned beneath the NX500, which is also available in India, the Honda NX400 offers significant improvements to the ADV intended for the Japanese market. The engine displacement is the main apparent distinction between the NX400 and NX500 motorcycles. Going up against the likes of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, the KTM 390 Adventure, the BMW G 310 GS, and other sub-400cc adventure touring bikes, the Honda NX400 would be a great choice. Here's a brief overview of the all-new NX400's features, specifications, and other important details.

2024 Honda NX400: What's New?

Honda NX400

First off, let's start with what's new in the bike. Traction control, or Honda Selectable Torque Control, is among the feature highlights of the revamped Honda NX400. Along with Bluetooth connectivity, the model also receives a new 5-inch TFT colour display for the instrument console that offers music and navigation, call and SMS notifications, and other functions.

Apart from the NX400, the bikemaker has updated the CBR400R as well. The 2024 iteration of this model has been introduced for 863,500 Yen (around Rs 4.77 lakh). Just like the former, the CBR400R also gets additional amenities in the form of traction control and a 5-inch TFT instrument display with Bluetooth capability. Both the new-gen NX400 and the CBR400R were on display at EICMA last year and share many parts, including the engine. They also face some fierce competition from well-known manufacturers like Royal Enfield, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Aprilia, and KTM.

2024 Honda NX400: Engine Specifications

Mechanically, the bike is propelled by a 399cc liquid-cooled, inline twin engine that puts out 45.4bhp of maximum power and 38Nm of peak torque. Further, this unit is coupled to a six-speed gearbox that has a slip-and-assist clutch. The engine output is comparable to that of its international competitors.

2024 Honda NX400: Design, Hardware and Features

The 2024 Honda NX400 ADV looks the same as it did in the past. With its tall windscreen, vertically stacked LED headlamp, and fairing akin to a Dakar bike, the tall posture is the same as that of the new NX500. For comfort, the bike has a single seat that is scooped out and handlebars that are raised. The bike has alloy wheels measuring 19 inches up front and 17 inches in the back. USD front forks and a monoshock handle suspension chores. Other elements include LED lighting, traction control, a TFT screen with smartphone connectivity, disc brakes at both ends and dual-channel ABS.

Nevertheless, there is only a little possibility that the 2024 Honda NX400 will reach India. The model won't come with a significant price difference from the NX500, which is positioned in the middleweight class. However, according to certain industry reports, the brand is developing a new adventure bike that will likely debut in a few months and be built on the CB350 platform. The single-cylinder, domestically produced vehicle will be more reasonably priced for the Indian market.
