Honda has introduced the 2024 version of the CBR400R in Japan at 863,500 Yen (about Rs 4.77 lakh). Aside from subtle cosmetic alterations, the Honda two-wheeler gets multiple additional amenities like traction control and a 5-inch TFT instrument display with Bluetooth capability. Although the CBR400R's launch in India is currently uncertain, Honda could bring the bike here to establish supremacy in the sub-500cc motorcycle segment. If this happens, the Honda motorcycle will face off against the Yamaha YZF-R3, the Kawasaki Ninja 400, and the Aprilia RS 457. As the model will now be officially available for purchase in Japan starting March 21, let's have a look at its primary changes and other aspects.
2024 Honda CBR400R: What’s New?
The bike's design has undergone a few slight modifications, although many of its parts continue to be the same as those of the previous version. Highlights include the modified headlight as well as the aggressive character-enhancing winglets and slits in the center cowls. Additionally, the bike's weight has decreased by roughly 1kg to 191kg. Two new paint jobs, Grand Prix Red and Matte Ballistic Black Metallic, are also added to the CBR400R.
Additional enhancements to the new CBR400R are a 5-inch TFT instrument console with Bluetooth that enables the user to manage music in addition to taking calls. The bike now includes traction control, which will keep riders safe in slick conditions.
2024 Honda CBR400R: Mechanical Specifics
The bike's mechanical components are the same, therefore the Honda two-wheeler is driven by the same 399cc liquid-cooled parallel twin-cylinder motor. It generates a maximum torque of 38Nm at 7,500rpm and a peak power output of 45.4bhp at 9,000rpm. The bike has a slip-and-assist clutch and a six-speed gearbox.
Honda NX500 Launched in India
As previously said, there is no official word on whether or not the high-end Honda CBR400R will make its way to India. Still, additional bikes in this class are anticipated given that the bikemaker just introduced its premium NX500 here under the BigWing brand. The new Honda NX500 is the manufacturer's only middleweight adventure tourer offered in India, with a price tag of Rs 5.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The recently launched NX500 is powered by a potent 471cc DOHC parallel twin-cylinder unit with excellent liquid cooling.
