Ducati has unveiled a new DesertX Rally for 2024, which is an improved and more extreme version of the existing DesertX. The new Desert X Rally features new suspension and wheel upgrades that are specifically designed to optimise off-road enduro experiences, hence elevating the level of your off-road adventures. The distinguishing features of this variation include a visually striking Iron Giant livery and an elevated front mudguard. However, the Ducati's new Desert X Rally comes with a lot more than just a pretty face. Ducati has a history of bringing almost all of its motorcycles to India. Hence, it is likely that the DesertX Rally will arrive in our market as well. If launched here, customers can expect a hefty premium, ranging between Rs 4 Lakh and Rs 5 lakh, over the standard Desert X, priced at Rs 17. 91 lakh (ex-showroom).

2024 Ducati DesertX: Design

The 2024 Ducati DesertX Rally receives an updated high front mudguard, adjustable brake and clutch leavers machined fork clamps and a special Iron Giant livery created only for this motorcycle. The suspension system of the motorcycle is based on those used in cross-country and enduro racing bikes. A swingarm made of aluminium, featuring a unique attachment point, is combined with a rear shock absorber that is adjustable and equipped with a larger piston. The handlebar has been upgraded with an Ohlins steering damper.

The ground clearance of the DesertX Rally has been augmented by 30mm, resulting in a new measurement of 280mm. The off-road performance of the  DesertX Rally is improved by the utilisation of wheels featuring solid machined hubs, Takasago Excel rims equipped with inner tubes and carbon steel spokes. The Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyre is offered as a factory-installed option for versatile riding across many terrains. The Scorpion Rally tyre is designed specifically for off-road usage, while the Scorpion Trail II tyre is intended for asphalt surfaces. The DesertX Rally's dry weight is only 1 kg heavier than the original model despite these enhancements and the larger-than-usual suspension.

2024 Ducati DesertX: Features

The Ducati DesertX Rally's 5-inch colour TFT screen is vertically angled, making it easy to see when standing up. This screen works in tandem with the Ducati Multimedia System to provide access to features like music control and call management. The bike also has a utility bar that may be used to attach a GPS device. It is possible to add an extra 8-litre tank, which increases the range by about 40 per cent. When paired with the top case, the available aluminium side cases increase the total capacity to nearly 120 litres. Accessories like heated grips and LED lamps can be purchased separately. The tank and the engine are safeguarded by steel tube engine guards for off-road activity.
