Simple Energy, a Bengaluru-based startup firm, will finally launch the 2023 One electric scooter on May 2023 in India. In 2021, the EV startup introduced the e-scooter at Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) in our market. However, the deliveries of the EV didn't start then, and the firm became tightlipped on the same. Now, after a gap of almost two years, the EV maker is finally launching the vehicle, and we expect it to get improvements over the previous version. There is no exact update on the features or mechanical specifics of the model from the startup yet, but we hope that significant changes will be made to the EV. According to the firm, it spent its last two years rigorously testing the EV and complying with the Automotive Industry Standards (AIS) amendment 3, which guarantees battery safety. The launch of the new Simple One Electric Scooter will take place in Bengaluru city, and deliveries will reportedly start there first, followed by other locations in a phase-wise manner. Before its launch, let's quickly go through the specs of the previous version. Whether these specs will continue in the 2023 model or not is something that remains to be seen.
