2023 Okinawa OKHi-90 Launched in India at Rs 1.86 Lakh, Gets Updated Battery, New Motor & More
For the model year 2023, the Okinawa OKHi-90 electric scooter receives significant updates in the form of an AIS-156 Amendment 3-compliant battery pack, a new electric motor, and advanced connectivity features.
Okinawa Autotech - the Gurugram-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer - has launched the OKHi-90 in the 2023 guise in the Indian market. For the model year 2023, the Okinawa OKHi-90 electric scooter receives significant updates in the form of an AIS-156 Amendment 3-compliant battery pack, a new electric motor, and advanced connectivity features. In terms of pricing, the updated electric two-wheeler stands at Rs 1.86 lakh (ex-showroom). Okinawa claims that its OKHi-90 received over 10,000 bookings within the first month of its India entry in 2022. The deliveries of the new Okinawa OKHi-90 are slated to begin in September 2023. Meanwhile, the EV maker also plans to roll out updates for its entire product line-up in the company months.

2023 Okinawa OKHi-90 Electric Scooter: Next-Gen Electric Motor
In partnership with the Italian electric motorcycle manufacturer Tactica, Okinawa has updated the OKHi-90 EV with a new encoder-based motor that promises precise positioning, improved ride quality, better thermal management, and easy servicing. As a result, it ensures improved longevity of the 3.8kW electric motor.
2023 Okinawa OKHi-90 Electric Scooter: Battery, Range, Top Speed
In conjunction with a new electric motor, a 3.6kWh removable lithium-ion battery pack powers the 2023 Okinawa OKHi-90. The end result is a claimed riding range of up to 160km on a single charge, while the scooter tops out at 90km/h. Using a regular charger, the vehicle can be fully charged in 5 to 6 hours. Additionally, the OKHi-90 also includes a micro-charger with an auto-cut function and an E-ABS (electronic-assisted braking system) with regenerative energy.
2023 Okinawa OKHi-90 Electric Scooter: Features
On the feature front, the electric scooter gets LED lighting, 40-litre boot space, and a coloured digital instrument console with a built-in navigation system, Bluetooth connectivity, notification and call alerts, music notifications, time display, etc. Other bits include a low-speed reverse gear, two riding modes (Eco and Sport), a USB port, and mobile app connectivity for real-time battery SOC monitoring, real-time speed monitoring, and on/off notifications.
2023 Okinawa OKHi-90 Electric Scooter: Suspension, Braking
The 2023 Okinawa OKHi-90 is suspended with the help of hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and dual spring-loaded shock absorbers at the back. Braking responsibilities are carried out by disc brakes at both ends, accompanied by an E-ABS. The scooter rides on 16-inch alloy wheels.

2023 Okinawa OKHi-90 Electric Scooter: Dimensions
In terms of dimensions, the 2023 version gets a wider seat height of 803mm, a wheelbase of 1,520mm, and 175mm of ground clearance.
