With the launch of the OBD-2-compliant Activa 125 range in the Indian market, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has updated its model range in the country. These Suzuki Access 125 competitors are currently offered in four different variants. The price for the base variant starts at Rs 78,920 and goes up to Rs 88,093 for the H-Smart version. Both prices are ex-showroom. The 2023 series only receives mechanical upgrades, with the exception of the newly added H-Smart variation that gains further functions. Coming to the other market rivals, the all-new scooter goes up against the likes of the Yamaha Fascino 125, the TVS Jupiter 125, and the Hero Destini 125. 2023 Honda Activa 125: Mechanical Specifications
The changes on the mechanical front are limited to the hardware required for OBD 2 compliance. Meanwhile, the scooter is still powered by a 123.97cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that has a maximum output of 8.18bhp at 6,500rpm and a peak torque of 10.3Nm at 5,000rpm. The engine is coupled with a CVT transmission.
2023 Honda Activa 125: Styling and Colour Options
The 2023 Honda Activa 125 range keeps the design cues from its forerunner and features a single-pod headlight with a body-coloured cowl, front turn indicators positioned on the apron, a front fender painted the same colour as the body, and chrome accents on the body panel and apron. The colour palette now has five colour options to choose from instead of six like in the previous iteration. These include - Pearl Night Start Black, Heavy Grey Metallic (not offered for the Drum variation), Mid Night Blue Metallic, Rebel Red Metallic, and Pearl Precious White.
2023 Honda Activa 125: Variants
As mentioned earlier, the Honda Activa 125 range for 2023 now comes in four variants: Drum, Drum Alloy, Disc Alloy, and H-Smart. In contrast, the 125cc scooter had previously been available in three variations through the Japanese manufacturer's Indian division. Drum brakes and steel wheels are used on both ends of the standard model (Drum), whereas alloy wheels are used on the Drum Alloy model. Then, the Disc and the H-Smart versions come with alloy wheels, a front disc brake, and a rear drum brake. The cost of the standard model is Rs 78,920, while the cost of the top-spec H-Smart variant is Rs 88,093. Further, the Drum Alloy variant has a price tag of Rs 82,588, and the Disc variant is priced at Rs 86,093. All prices are ex-showroom.
2023 Honda Activa 125: Features and Hardware
The 2023 Activa 125 continues to use an LED headlight with LED position lamps, Enhanced Smart Power (eSP) technology, ACG Starter, Idling Stop System, side stand engine inhibitor function, and combined braking system. The feature list for the entire range is similar to that of the previous model. The 2023 Activa 125, however, has an instrument cluster that is semi-digital and includes an odometer, clock, ECO indicator, and service due indicator.
The H-Smart model then gains further benefits from a Smart Key System, which adds capabilities like Smart Find, remote unlock, keyless ignition, and an anti-theft system. The fuel lid under-seat storage can both be accessed using smart the key.

Like its forerunner, the 2023 Activa 125 features an underbone frame, telescopic front forks, and a three-step adjustable rear spring for the suspension. While the high-spec versions (Disc and H-Smart) utilise a 190mm disc brake at the front and a 130mm drum unit at the rear, the base models (Drum and Drum Alloy) use drum brakes on both wheels for anchoring. There is a combined braking system as part of the safety net across the range. The scooter also has 10-inch rear wheels and 12-inch front wheels.
