Hero MotoCorp is going to launch its 2023 iteration of the Xtreme 160R for India on the 14th of June, 2023. The bike had also been seen testing on Indian soil on several occasions. And now Hero has planned to launch one of its much-awaited motorcycles this month. The upcoming Hero Xtreme 160R will likely come powered by the same 163cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine, which cranks out 15bhp at 8,500rpm and 14Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. The engine will be updated, nevertheless, to adhere to BS6 Phase II emission norms and be E20 fuel-ready, a blend of 20 per cent ethanol and 80 per cent petrol. The gearbox will be a 5-speed unit.

Considering the stiff market competition, the 2023 Hero Xtreme is expected to be underpinned by upside-down forks at the front and a preload-adjustable mono-shock at the rear. In terms of braking, the new motorcycle will come equipped with disc brakes at both ends. It is also speculated that the 2023 model will have a single-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system) with an optional rear disc brake.
2023 Hero Xtreme 160R: Design & Features
Based on a previous set of spy images, the latest Xtreme 160R is anticipated to get a revised digital instrument cluster with connected technology, such as a negative LCD. Furthermore, the bike could sport LED headlights and taillights, LED turn indicators, a high-set handlebar, a muscular tank, a side-mounted exhaust, a stepped-up seat, a gear position indicator, and a hazard light function. The Xtreme 160R will sit on 17-inch blacked-out wheels. Two new dual-tone paint options are also likely on the cards as the bike maker is intended to give a comprehensive refresh to the Xtreme 160R.
The new motorcycle is built around a tubular diamond frame, therefore, the Xtreme 160R's kerb weight could go up to around 138 kilograms. This makes it one of the lightest bikes in the 160cc segment. The bike has a fuel storage capacity of 12 litres.

2023 Hero Xtreme 160R: Price, Rivals
Expect a slight premium of around Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 over the current model, once the 2023 Xtreme 160R is launched in a few days' time. The existing model is priced between Rs 1.18 lakh and Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom). In terms of rivalry, the upcoming Xtreme 160R will take on the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar NS160, the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, and the Yamaha FZS-FI.
