Yamaha India’s first launch for the year 2022 is the FZ-S. The brand has introduced a new variant of the bike, called the ‘DLX’, with a few extra features.
Yamaha has updated one of its popular 150cc motorcycles, the FZ, for the model year 2022. The updates include skin-deep changes and the addition of LED lamps.
To begin with, the bike features the same 149cc-single air-cooled motor, producing 12.23bhp at 7,250rpm and 13.3Nm at 5,500rpm. The gearbox is also the same five-speed unit.
The new motorcycle carries a sticker price that is higher by Rs 1,000 than that of the model it replaces.
Following are the ex-showroom prices of the 2022 Yamaha FZ-S and the FZS DLX.
2022 Yamaha FZ-S: Rs 1,15,900.
2022 Yamaha FZS DLX: Rs 1,18,900.
There is also a new DLX (Deluxe) variant on offer, which has been priced slightly higher than the standard 2022 FZ-S. This new variant gets LED flashers and an LED tail lamp, which can be installed at the dealership level for no extra cost, says Yamaha Motors India.
The cosmetic changes include colour alloy wheels, new graphics on the tank, and a dual-tone seat. The DLX variant of the 2022 FZ-S gets gloss finished colours, whereas the standard FZS gets matte-finished options.
Other features remain the same. The motorcycle features a-digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. Mechanicals such as suspension and brakes are the same as before, which means the FZS still comes with a single-channel ABS.
The main rivals to the new Yamaha FZ-S are Bajaj Pulsar 150, Hero Xtreme 160R, TVS Apache RTR 160, and Honda Unicorn.
