The middle-weight street naked Kawasaki Z650 has been updated for the model year 2022. Interestingly, Kawasaki has managed to keep the price of the new model the same as before.
Soon after Kawasaki India updated its Ninja 650, the Japanese motorcycle maker has brought in the updated Z650 street naked motorcycle. The 2022 Kawasaki Z650 has been priced at Rs 6.24 lakh (ex-showroom), which is the same as the pre-update model.
The Z650 from Kawasaki is still an affordable option in the premium middle-weight segment, especially in comparison to the Triumph Trident 660 – priced at Rs 6.95 lakh (ex-showroom) – and the Honda CB650R – priced at Rs 8.67 lakh (ex-showroom). The Kawasaki Z650 also rivals the recently launched BS6 CFMoto 650 NK, which is priced at Rs 4.29 lakh (ex-showroom) – Rs 1.95 lakh less than that of the Z650.
The update for the 2022 Kawasaki Z650 includes a new paint scheme – Candy Lime Green Type 3. This new paint scheme includes a dual-tone pattern of Black and Green. While some panels on the fuel tank and chassis members are finished in green, most bodywork gets a shade of black.
Mechanically, the new Z650 stays the same. The 646cc parallel-twin engine has been carried over in the same state of tune, producing 67bhp and 64Nm. The drive is sent to the wheel via a six-speed gearbox. The suspensions and braking components are the same as before, and the motorcycle tips the scale at 190kgs.
