The 2022 SR 125 gets mild cosmetic changes, such as a new headlamp and tail lamp design, a more aerodynamic front apron, a new set of graphics, a sporty split seat, and an all-digital instrument cluster. For an additional cost of Rs 2,000, the instrument cluster can be upgraded with Bluetooth connectivity. Additionally, the scooters also feature a boot lamp and a USB charger.

The engine is the same 124.4cc single-cylinder unit, which produces 9.7bhp at 7,700rpm and 9.7Nm at 6,000rpm. The gearbox is a CVT. The SR 125 misses out on ABS but gets CBS (Combined Braking System).

The 2022 Aprilia SR 160 features the same cosmetic enhancement as the SR 125. The Aprilia SR 160 Race gets knuckle guard as a standard feature. The engine has been carried over to the new scooter. The same 160cc engine powers the new SR 160. At 10.86bhp at 7,600rpm and 11.6Nm at 6,000rpm, the power figures also remain unchanged.

The suspension units and braking hardware have been carried over as well. The feature list is largely similar to that of the SR 125.

The SR 125 mainly rivals the TVS Ntorq 125 Race XP, which is priced at Rs 85,125 (ex-showroom). The new SR 160 range from Aprilia takes on the likes of the Yamaha Aerox 155, which is substantially more affordable and produces more power.
