Triumph’s next launch will be a scrambler motorcycle based on a modern classic, i.e the standard version of the Street Scrambler Sandstorm that is already on sale.
In the first half of this year, Triumph India launched the 2021 Street Scrambler Sandstorm – limited edition – for Rs 9.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The British motorcycle maker is now gearing up to launch the standard variant of the same motorcycle.
The standard 2021Street Scrambler will miss out on a few additional accessories that Triumph offers with the Sandstorm edition. The motorcycle will be offered with a different set of colours as well.
The standard 2021 Triumph Street Scrambler will have a relatively lower price tag – between Rs 8.5 lakh and Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom) – compared to the Sandstorm edition of the same motorcycle. The launch is expected by the end of this month, with deliveries commencing by the first week of November 2021.
Mechanically, the standard 2021 Street Scrambler will be the same as the outgoing Street Scrambler Sandstorm. Expect the same 900cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine in the standard motorcycle as well. The gearbox will be the same 5-speed unit. The power figures will be unchanged at 64bhp at 7,250rpm and 80Nm at 3,250rpm.
Other cycle parts such as 41mm conventional front forks and rear twin shock absorbers will be the same. Braking equipment will be identical as well. The 2021 Triumph Street Scrambler will rival the likes of the Ducati Icon Dark.
