Recently, Triumph India launched the Speed Twin which is a modern classic motorcycle. Now, the manufacturer is gearing up to introduce the updated version of its smaller capacity and more affordable Street Scrambler.
Triumph India has confirmed that the 2021 Street Scrambler will make its debut on October 12. Currently, Triumph sells the Street Scrambler Sandstorm which is essentially a special edition model. The motorcycle that will break cover next week will be a standard variant of the Street Scrambler Sandstorm edition.
The 2021 Triumph Street Scrambler will essentially rival the Ducati Scrambler Icon Dark which is priced at Rs 7.88 lakh (ex-showroom). Expect the 2021 Street Scrambler to be priced around the same ballpark. Triumph India will offer the 2021 Street Scrambler with a host of accessories at an additional cost.
Coming to the mechanical bits of the motorcycle, the 2021 Street Scrambler will be powered by a 900cc parallel-twin motor. The engine will be a liquid-cooled unit mated to a five-speed gearbox. The output will be marked at 64bhp and 80Nm.
The cycle parts will include spoke-wire wheels that the Ducati Icon and the Icon Dark miss out on. The tyres on offer will be dual-purpose.
The suspension units on offer will be 41mm conventional forks in the front and dual shock absorbers at the back. The braking hardware in the front will include an axially mounted Brembo four-pot calliper on a 310mm rotor. At the rear, the motorcycle will get a 255mm disc with a Nissin two-piston calliper.
Triumph recently showcased the Tiger Sport 660 which is an adventure-tourer derivative of the Trident 660. The new adventure-tourer motorcycle will be launched in India by mid-2022 as the most affordable ‘Tiger’ under the respective vertical.
