Sharper, lighter and more powerful than before, the all-new Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS has been finally revealed.
After unveiling the Trident and Tiger 850 Sport, Triumph has now revealed the all-new 2021 Speed Triple 1200 RS. Updates over the previous model include an all-new and larger capacity three-cylinder engine, new-age riding aids and a lighter frame.
The all-new Speed Triple 1200 RS is headlined by a bigger 1,160cc inline three-cylinder unit that churns out 177.5bhp – a bump of nearly 30bhp over its predecessor – and 125Nm of torque, which is 8Nm more than before. According to Triumph, the new engine is 7kg lighter and redlines at 11,150rpm – which is 650rpm higher than the previous 1,050cc unit. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox that comes with a slipper and assist clutch.
Tipping the scales at 198kg, the new Speed Triple 1200 RS is 10kg lighter than the old bike. The motorcycle is equipped with Brembo Stylema brakes, fully-adjustable Öhlins suspension and Metzeler Racetec RR rubber on both wheels.
Features wise, there’s an all-new 5-inch TFT screen, an up-and-down quickshifter, cornering ABS, switchable cornering traction control (with IMU), 5 riding modes – including Rain, Road, Sport, Track and Rider mode. In addition to that, the lighting is all-LED, there’s a keyless system, cruise control, and it also has My Triumph Connectivity System.
Last but not least, the Speed Triple 1200 RS looks way more aggressive now, thanks to new design elements, featuring muscular and sharper lines.
Triumph India will announce the price of the new Speed TrIple RS on January 28, 2021. Customer deliveries are expected to begin from February.
