Ducati's dark and devilish power-cruiser gets some "light" updates for MY2018.
Meet the updated Ducati XDiavel for the model year 2018. As you’ll notice, it dons a new paint scheme – called the Iceberg White. Apart from the new shade, the motorcycle has also received some minor updates in the suspension department. Besides these two additions, not much has changed, meaning the XDiavel is still a ruthlessly cool looking power-cruiser.
Ducati will be showcasing the updated 2018 XDiavel at the European Custom and Cruiser show in Faaker See, Austria. Although Ducati launched the XDiavel with a dark devilish theme from the get-go, the Italian motorcycle maker has now decided to offer a light shade with the motorcycle. And it kind of works, if you think about it. The light shade helps highlight the muscles and beautifully crafted lines of the cruiser in a more effective manner.
On the mechanical front, there are no revisions to speak of. This would mean the XDiavel will continue with the same Testastretta DVT 1,262cc L-Twin engine that churns out 154bhp of maximum power and 129Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a five-speeder. Apart from the that, the motorcycle will have belt-drive transmission, Ducati Safety Pack that includes ABS, traction control and different ride modes, et al, is also part of the standard kit.
The 2018 Ducati XDiavel with new colour option is likely to come to India in due time. Ducati currently sells the XDiavel in two variants – standard and S – in India. The standard version is priced at Rs 16.30 lakh, whereas the S version - featuring more goodies such as LED DRLs and bigger Brembo M50 brakes along with machined finish on the rear wheel, swing-arm and ORVMs – is priced at Rs 19.30 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom, pan India.
