Volkswagen Virtus GT Line, GT Plus Sport Launched in India, Get Blacked-out Styling

Volkswagen has launched the Virtus GT Line and the GT Plus Sport in the Indian market. The former, offered with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with either a six-speed manual or an automatic gearbox, is priced from Rs 14.07 lakh. On the other hand, the latter starts at Rs 17.84 lakh and gets a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit available with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. The prices are ex-showroom. Alongside this, the company has also introduced the Highline Plus variant for the Virtus and the Taigun. On top of it, Volkswagen is offering an enhanced feature package for the Taigun GT Line launched in April 2024.

To begin with, the Volkswagen Virtus GT Line gets a blackened grille, LED headlamps (with LED DRLs), outside rearview mirrors, boot lid spoiler and window bar. There is also a black Virtus lettering on the boot lid. While the door handles sport a unique dark chrome garnish, the GT line badging is again done in black. Move inside and you will find blacked-out elements such as sun visors, grab handles, and dashboard. The black leatherette seats are set in contrast with grey stitching.

Features-wise, the Virtus GT Line offers a 10.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, an 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster, an electric sunroof, red ambient lighting, aluminium pedals, automatic climate control, auto-dimming IRVM, rain-sensing wipers, and push button start/stop. For safety, the vehicle packs in six airbags (standard), hill hold control, tyre pressure deflation warning, ESC, ABS, EBD, TCS, BA, and muti-collision brakes. 

Volkswagen Virtus GT Plus Sport: What it Offers?

Like the GT Line, the Virtus GT Plus Sport has a blacked-out grille, LED headlamps, outside rearview mirrors, boot lid spoiler, 16-inch wheels and Virtus lettering. But, it adds red elements, such as brake callipers as well as GT badges on the front fender and boot lid, for contrast. Unlike the GT Line, the GT Plus Sport offers an aero kit. 

The contrasting red bits continue on the inside too, and can be found on the steering wheel and leatherette seats. Other bits include aluminium pedals and red ambient lighting. Over the GT Line, the GT Plus Sport adds segment-first ventilated front seats and an amplifier and subwoofer. 

Volkswagen Virtus, Taigun Highline Plus Variants

Powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, the Highline Plus variants of the Taigun and the Virtus range from Rs 14.27 lakh and Rs 13.88, respectively. The prices are ex-showroom. The variants bring an 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster, an auto-dimming inside rearview mirror, push-button start-stop, an electric sunroof, auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and automatic coming/ leaving home lights. Moreover, the Topline variants of the Taigun and the Virtus get an amplifier and sub-woofer as standard for enhanced audio experience.

Last but not least, the Taigun GT Line, launched a few months ago, has been updated with the following features: an 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster, push-button start-stop, an electric sunroof, an auto-dimming IRVM, rain-sensing wipers, and aluminium pedals.
