Volkswagen Tiguan SUV Price Hiked by Rs 47,000 in India, Check New Price Here
Post a price hike of Rs 47,000, the 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan is offered at an ex-showroom price of Rs 35.17 lakh in India. Based on the MQB platform, the updated vehicle comes in only one variant - the Elegance.
Within 3 months after the launch of the 2023 Tiguan SUV, the Indian arm of the German manufacturer Volkswagen has raised the price of the car in the country. The company launched the updated version in May this year, with a sticker price of Rs 34.69 lakh (ex-showroom). The manufacturer, then, offered its customers to buy the Tiguan at Rs 50,000 more than the previous model. And now, Volkswagen is offering the SUV at a sticker price of Rs 35.17 lakh (ex-showroom), which is a hike of around Rs 47,000. Based on the MQB platform, the updated Tiguan is offered in only the Elegance variant and is available to customers through the company's network of 157 sales and 124 service touchpoints spread across 115 cities in India. The 2023 Tiguan gets a new dual-tone interior as well as other feature updates. Also, its 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine adheres to stricter BS6 Phase II or RDE norms.

Volkswagen Tiguan SUV: Engine and Gearbox
At its heart is a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that is mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox with all-wheel-drive technology. This engine develops around 187bhp of power at 4,200 to 6,000rpm and 320Nm of torque at 1,500 to 4,100rpm. In terms of mileage, the SUV yields an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 13.54km/l (up from 12.65km/l), thanks to the switch to BS6 Phase II norms.

Outside, the Volkswagen Tiguan maintains its strong and muscular presence. For instance, it has a broad radiator grille flanked by LED matrix headlights, along with a bumper that brings out its muscularity. Plus, the car gets dark LED combination tail lights and R18 'Frankfurt' alloy wheels at the rear. The Tiguan lettering is positioned in the centre.
However, some modifications have been made in the form of its colour options. The updated SUV has ditched King's Red and Pure White exterior colour options in favour of Nightshade Blue, Oryx White, Dolphin Grey, Deep Black, and Reflex Silver.
Volkswagen Tiguan SUV: Interior
The revised Volkswagen Tiguan features a dual-tone Storm Grey interior, rather than an all-black interior theme. On offer are also a wireless smartphone charger and seatbelt reminder for all seats. Other bits include a panoramic sunroof, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, heated front seats, a powered tailgate, three-zone climate control, etc.

In terms of safety, the 2023 Tiguan comes with a Level 1 ADAS safety feature called Park Assist, which aids customers to park their SUVs in tight and congested places at the push of a button. Other added safety features include 6 airbags, 3-point seat belts, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic stability control (ESC), electronic differential lock (EDL), anti-slip regulation (ASR), hill start assist, active TPMS, hill descent control, engine drag torque control, 3 headrests at the rear, driver alert systems, and ISOFIX mounts.

Volkswagen Tiguan SUV: Competition Check
With immediate effect, the Tiguan is available at Rs 35.17 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. At this price point, the SUV is Volkswagen's answer to the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, the Skoda Kodiaq, the MG Gloster, the Hyundai Tucson, and more in the Indian market.
