Volkswagen Taigun Anniversary Edition Discontinued in India, to Get GT Limited Edition Variant in June
The Volkswagen Taigun GT Limited Collection will mark its entry into the Indian market starting June this year. This will be powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, TSI EVO engine, which generates 145bhp and 250Nm.
Volkswagen has stopped production of the Taigun First Anniversary Edition in India and delisted it from its official website. The Taigun SUV completed one year of being on sale in India in September last year. To commemorate the SUV's milestone, the German automaker launched the Taigun Anniversary Edition in two variants, with prices ranging between Rs 15.70 lakh and Rs 17.20 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. The special edition is based on the higher-spec Topline trim of the Dynamic Line, which is offered exclusively with a 1.0-litre TSI engine, meaning that the two variants on offer include the 1.0 TSI MT and the 1.0 TSI AT. In terms of market rivalry, the Volkswagen Taigun competes against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
