The Taigun received a five-star Global NCAP safety rating just over a year after its launch. In June, Volkswagen further improved the SUV by making six airbags standard on all models, boosting its safety features.
As far as market rivals are concerned, the Taigun faces stiff competition from the Skoda Kushaq, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, and the Citroen C3 Aircross.
The exterior features of the Volkswagen Taigun GT Plus Sport comprise dark chrome door handles, red brake callipers, smoked LED headlamps, a carbon steel grey roof, and red GT branding on the grille, fender, and rear profile.
The Volkswagen Taigun was recently crash tested by Latin NCAP and scored a 5-star rating. It received 92 per cent for adult protection, 92 per cent for child protection, 55 per cent for the protection of pedestrians and other vulnerable road users, and 83 per cent for safety assist systems.
The Volkswagen Taigun GT Limited Collection will mark its entry into the Indian market starting June this year. This will be powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, TSI EVO engine, which generates 145bhp and 250Nm.
