Toyota Rumion MPV Waiting Period Reaches up to 4 Months in India

After much customer anticipation, Toyota India launched its brand-new MPV, the Rumion in August this year. The new model with a starting price of Rs 10.29 lakh is comparatively more expensive than the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which retails for a base price of Rs 8.64 lakh. Both figures are ex-showroom. The Rumion is essentially a rebadged Maruti Suzuki Ertiga with only minor aesthetic changes. The seven-seater offering is available in three trims - S, G, and V. Furthermore, customers can select from a range of four exterior shades. The deliveries of the Rumion began last month and the car seems to be in quite a demand. Speaking of its current waiting period as of this month, buyers will have to wait for up to 4 months to get their hands on the petrol versions of the model. Toyota Rumion: Powertrain Details
The 1.5-litre petrol engine in the Toyota Rumion puts out 137Nm of maximum torque and 102bhp of peak power. Either a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission or a five-speed manual transmission is mated to this engine. In CNG-spec, the same unit only comes with a five-speed manual gearbox and delivers 87bhp of maximum power and 121.5Nm of peak torque. In comparison to the Rumion CNG's claimed economy of 26.11km/kg, the Rumion petrol has a mileage of 20.51km/l, according to the manufacturer.
Meanwhile, in a recent development, the automaker stopped taking reservations for the Rumion's CNG versions. As per Toyota, this decision was made as a result of the MPV receiving an overwhelmingly positive response. This further led to an extended waiting period.

Inside the cabin, the updated Rumion's dashboard sports faux wood inlays and is finished in a dual-tone Black and Beige colour scheme. Additional features include automatic climate control, cruise control, and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The MPV also offers extensive standard safety features, including side airbags, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, and an Electronic Stability Program (ESP).

In terms of design language, the Rumion and the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga share a lot of aesthetic similarities as they both are developed on the same platform. However, the addition of trapezoidal fog lamp housings to the bumper is the most prominent change. Additionally, a new grille that mimics the Innova Crysta has been added. Another distinguishing characteristic of the car is its brand-new dual-tone alloy wheels.

The standard S version of the car carries a price tag of Rs 10.29 lakh, while the top-of-the-line V automatic model costs Rs 13.68 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom.
